KENNESAW MOUNTAIN HS MAGNET PROGRAM

For Students

1. KMHS Magnet Applications may be downloaded from our website at http://kmhsmagnet.com under the "Admissions" tab.

2. You may (and we prefer) apply online at http://www.quia.com/sv/133061.html or you may follow the link on our website for "Online Applications."

3. A limited number of print applications will be delivered to each middle school by the middle of October.

4. Do not give your teachers recommendation forms to complete until you have submitted your application. These forms can also be downloaded from our website, or you may get them from your guidance counselor after December 15.

5. Be sure to mail, FAX, or deliver the print or downloaded applications by December 7, 2007 at 5:00 PM. Online applications have the same deadline.

6. All applicants will test on January 26, 2008 at Wheeler High School. Letters will be sent out with all pertinent information.

PEBBLEBROOK HS MAGNET PERFORMING ARTS OPEN HOUSE

Please remind your talented 8th graders and their parents of the Pebblebrook Performing Arts Open House THIS Friday, October 12, at 7:30PM. It's held in conjunction with our performance of JUMP, JIVE, and WAIL at the Cobb Civic Center's Jennie T. Anderson Theatre. There will be a Q&A session after the show followed by an informal reception on the stage with the cast of ComPAny 2008. HARRISON HS PARENT CONNECTION & THE HARRISON SCHOOL COUNCIL PRESENT THEIR "CONNECT WITH KIDS" PARENTING WORKSHOPS

Harrison Parent Connection, sponsored by the HHS School Council, and Connect with Kids began a powerful parenting workshops with a session in October for parents only. The next two sessions focus on issues that directly affect young people, and we invite both students and their parents to attend.

Each FREE session will run in the theater on the first Tuesday of the months of November and December from 7:30-9 p.m.  Feel free to invite a friend and to forward this email to anyone interested!

Tuesday, Nov. 6 (a student holiday, but the Series will continue!)
Topic: On the Rocks: The Epidemic of Teen Drinking and Drug Use (Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.)

Topic: The Culture of Cruelty: Today's Bullying and Online Realities (Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.)

Stacey DeWitt, CEO and founder of the Connect with Kids Network, will lead our discussions, sharing the latest research, advice from experts, educators and school psychologists, and award-winning Connect with Kids video programs, which you can take home to your DVD library.
